Recently I wrote a piece, REQUIEM, my requiem for the world I believed I lived in. A few days ago, I came to very different words. STANDING ON A POWERKEG.
In these times of advanced technical weaponry (and propaganda on steroids), the term 'powderkeg' may seem archaic--and yet this is the beauty of poetry! The poetic imagery in your example is something that I and many other people are feeling-no doubt. Film is another form of poetry, for the eyes--and your imagery suggests (por moi) the cinematic and narrative elements in "V for Vendetta"[2005] ...and the dialog in that movie was also poetic-from the English folk verse re Guy Fawkes: "Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!"...
'Keep your powder dry', and our eyes on the road...
Love it! Yes!
