Lawyer Katja Wörmer saw Reiner yesterday. A prison doctor had come and listened to Reiners lungs- and will keep doing this over time -upon the lawyers request. There will be no blood sampling or c-rays!!! So grateful!
Forgive my scepticism but this case is beginning to sound farcical. If Reiner was in isolation for four days to keep him out of the way for one day, his birthday, why is he so cheerful? Come on now, who is pulling whose leg?! Why hasn't the same happened to Julian Assange?
Reiner is cheerful because that's his attitude to life. He is not about to let the Predators crush him. Also he knows that so many people care about him, came to the birthday celebration, for instance. So he missed the celebration. But he knows of the support - of the many forms of support he is getting, including from fellow prisoners. You can do many things, faced with adversity. Ed Wackerman, as well, is not giving up, is daring to write for example.
Yes, I appreciate what you're saying. Reiner has the advantage of knowing that people are rooting for him and this will make all the difference in the world to his mental health. I just find some things a little strange. On the one hand he's shackled in a high security prison and on the other, he's sending out recorded messages. Such luxury doesn't exist in Belmarsh Prison in the UK.
I totally agree with you. There are clearly some people supporting him within the system. He could always have sent out written messages via his lawyer - as he did at the start. Then he was given this special permission. I agree with you - I was very surprised at the start - especially now given the judge's preliminary judgement. We will see how this plays out.

He is allowed this from the judge. He speaks on the phone with his lawyer and she records it.
