Avoid anything called SMART. It's a trapping mechanism. 15 Min cities are also called SMART cities. There is a document about it called The Future or Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World. The source for download can be obtained here. Its very concerning what they (UN & WEF) are planning. https://budbromley.blog/2023/08/27/americas-c40-cities-london-and-other-cities-will-ban-meat-dairy-new-clothes-private-cars-by-2030-and-in-related-news-another-view-on-the-maui-tragedy/

they're not just takin' away our cars / independence / drivin' but our full infrastructure

https://thcsofdaisymoses.substack.com/p/trains-and-boats-and-planes?

I'm all fer ridin' yer bike, scooter (non-electric puhleese as the battery ones blow up!), or even yer bus. Fer all my life I lived in cities (mostly my hometown of NYC) ridin' the trains 'n buses but now bein' a city fish outta warter in the country fer the first time in my life--MILES from even the tiniest town an' over an hour from a real grocery that ain't a "convenience store-cum-gas station"--there ain't no public transit an' goin' any other way is impossible! (not ta say one cain't bike 'er scoot fer fun but it ain't possible even for an errand an' THAT is how much of America rolls!) Even back in NYC I wuz kinda skeptical when Bloomberg started rippin' up nice public spaces an' takin' "parts of parks" ta put in bike routes--so ya couldn't sit an' chat with yer fellow humans AN' yer parks (much needed!) shrunk!--the entire organic farm at our Battery Park had ta shrink & relocate. I called foul even then... AND then they made this bike lanes which caused more harm than good (long story) an' painted them with stuff SO TOXIC that a friend an' I had community board petitions 'bout it--the smell lasted fer months due to the durable (DURE-a-BULL!) new paint... I now think it was a con (as is congestion pricin') ta make these schmart shitties...

I'm all fer savin' on gas an' "real" clean transportation (electric ain't it!) when they git it--also them additives are bad fer us, fer the cars (by design) AND fer the air--of course "free energy" which is 100% clean an' safe exists... the rest is indeed a con ta cage us in our 15 min bubbles!

let's burst 'em while we still can--glad yer sharin' this Elsa--what happens in Canada comes here next!

So you're in the country now. How are you finding it?

yup, it's now been over a year since we skeddaddled! SO different but since ya asked it's...

1. safe

cuz NYC had sadly gotten SO dangerous--not ta mention filthy--it wuz just crazy--fer example shortly 'fore we moved--right outside the bld. where my daughter had voice lessons there were drunk MyGrunts throwin' glass bottles right at each other RIGHT on the sidewalk! No "author-itties" would intervene ta stop 'em due to new "rulin's" about "non-violent" crime bein' just quality of life stuff-- In the park where our homeschool group met they'd set up MyGrunt TENTS an' some'a these men were not "safe people"--the once clean park had needles an' folks shootin' up an' noddin' out--the bathrooms got trashed--so we had ta drop meetin' up. Robberies an' all manner've violence goin' on--folks nodded out in the streets---everythin' under lock & key at stores due to sanctioned shop lifin'--ALL too much)

So here in the boonies we're spared all that! Also back in NYC on top of all the other stuff joos in the city that was once our home were, as ya know, bein' targeted. My own alma mater NYU (we attended lots of the student shows there, etc) became a hotbed of protests (river-to-sea stuff) some violent with kids bein' injured on campus an' in the park (Wash. Squ)- Tho' we don't dress/look different as some chews do--the prop-plo protests were so ubiquitous an' folks got interrogated (god ferbid ya went in line at Katz's fer corned beef!)--includin' in front of our fave. health food store (that stocked Israeli hummus) so ya had ta cross the protest line to enter. Crazy, no?!-- An' we oft attended events where joos gather--eg. the 92nd St Y (my older one swam there), Streiker Center (for lectures), the Actor's Temple (not for "services" but for my girls' activities) an' so on... So anywhoo... the city got unsafe at least fer us subway-takers an' it's SO much safer up here! (Tho recently not that far from us a bunch'a Venezuelan gang members were doin' robberies an' one mom in our homeschool co-op had an "incident" where an armed MyGrunt that was a risk as a rapist got loose (?!) in her neib an' she an' her girls had ta say in all day with a police car parked 'til they got the guy... so they are not ONLY in the cities but still, safer up in these boonies...

2. culturally starved (the hardest part) & kinda broke

....but...not totally... We have managed ta find good music teachers connected with some universities here, good ice skatin'!... my younger one takes great art classes at a museum tho' it's quite a drive! but at least it's here--No paid actin' work fer me or my younger one--which stinks as that means we're broker than ever...BUT then again, this kinda work got weird--my daughter got refused work fer not bein' "diverse enuf" (white kid who is female an' has no other gender "identity" etc) So... there was writin' on the wall y'know... even in the ahrts 'fore we left

We DO miss the museums & galleries (but they went woke anyway) an' the shows of course, bein' of the biz (but they went woke anyway)--ditto fer the concerts (woke!--they actually replaced Mostly Mozart with Booty Call! --not a joke! ) so I guess the MET opera still goes on--usedta git our fave nosebleed seats!--ALL this ta say NewYawk was failin' so much that what we miss (CULTURALLY speakin') is what we had--not what it had become by the time we left!... Still, these folks out here are totally different...nice, not so culturally aware, not really readers... so findin' our "footin'" is dang hard.

Nothin' much culturally stimulatin' here (we do historic tours, enjoy the seasonal green markets...whatever we kin dig up! etc).

3. cheaper!

after the plandemic our rent would've doubled (except our landlord wouldn't renew our lease)--we were outta work b/c'a not gettin' jabbed (I documented this in my early stack postin's)

Many more things but we are hangin' in there--my girls SO miss the city--but it's all 5G an' there's robo police (cameras all over)--the dangers... it's just too dystopian. I hope ta git chickens tho--THAT might make all the diff. fer me--I'd enjoy havin' more "girls" around (not ta mention the eggs!)

yup, quite a diff! a LOT of New Yawkers left NYC fer good--I think over 300K--(that's how many MyGrunts moved in!) an' I don't imagine all fer destinies "urban" so I think others are also in the wilderness... lost but tryin' ta make-do as they say!

The plandemic started it rollin' (it had already been in gear...)--durin' all our cities inta dumpster fires... right now NYC is literally on fire--WILDFIRES in all the parks! Yup--impossible ta believe! So I'm glad we left--but miss our lives... missed graduations, proms, friends... sigh--them globalists are heartless (but of course! anyone with a heart wouldn't do such stuff ta people... SADLY most of our old friends remain an' think kumbaya it'll all be FINE... truth is--they own property, we rented--they know if they leave they won't git what it's worth so if the city's fully destroyed I don't know what they'll do... what they have'll be worthless...)

I think Vancouver's on the way... not as bad as NYC tho (yet!) ALL urban areas are at risk--an' everyone will be separated from their cars... forcefully if needed unless someone (who?) stops it all..

Back in the fifties, we had 15 minute cities towns and villages, everywhere, nearly every type of shop needed, existed on the high street, be it the butcher, the baker or the ironmongers, etc. Then government allowed big business (supermarkets) to steal the livelihoods from all those small businesses. Back then there was brilliant public transport, trains and buses were affordable, there was only one car parked on our street, yet people managed to enjoy their lives without an individually owned car. Then along came big business and the government, and started advertising cars, building more roads, selling more cars, building more roads, and reducing public trans port. Big business bought out bus companies and ran them into the ground. Lots of pollution from those petrol engines, I remember sometimes hardly being able to breath when some cars went by.

NOW the same idiots, government and big business are telling us it's our fault there's climate change, that we must stop travelling vast distances, and install 15 minute cities, which won't be shops owned by individuals, because 'You will own nothing and be happy' !!!

Are we going to carry on listening to these misguided fools or should we maybe take our lives into our own hands and make a better job of it than they have, because now, some of them are panicking that the population of the world has got so big they won't be able to control it and when control freaks are scared, they act even more stupidly and unthinkingly!
