He appears to have accepted uncritically the German govt/legal system's case and verdict that Reiner was guilty of embezzlement. This is not how a good researcher/journalist/commentator operates...and I suggest this is out of character for Hughes, who should have made an effort to get Reiner's side of the story.
As far as I can see, Reiner was unlawfully kidnapped, subjected to a kangaroo court trial, in which he was prevented from mounting any sort of defence, and sentenced harshly. It seems to me partially to be a lack of understanding of the corruption of the German high court, especially as concerns Rainer. Hence, David Hughes' research (which would appear to be good but is based on falsified information) and consequent mockery of Rainer's supporters must seem justified in your eyes.
Nothing is justified. No reasonable researcher can simply dismiss ALL court documents as ‘nonsense’ without presenting genuine evidence. I have written in-depth analysis myself of NZ caselaw. Where is Gregory’s more recent refutation after he has read all Hughes articles? I’m waiting to read it?
