Thank you Elsa wether your father made the right or wrong decision, that will be always a question mark, we cannot know what our paralel lives may look if we take other decisions, we can only "think". Maybe staying in Austria an accident could have happened, an illness developed to any of you.. You are the result, partially of your father and mother decision, our moral compass, our own behavior in life is marked by our experiences and you have achieved a high degree on personal and profesional development, specially your integrity and human values, that to my humble opinion puts you in a place that not many can reach!!! Now you are ready to support others by helping to discover in short time what has taken for you years.. I am sure you can change positively to many souls in a successful direction...

Oh, Elsa, thank you for sharing your story!! I can so relate to it. While my father was not in any way like yours, I feel for what you went through.

My mother immigrated to the States and I was born there, but I was able to nurture a deep understanding and love for Austria as a child.

But, alas, all the world is no longer what it once was..

And, as children of second world war sufferers, we also suffer.

As grahamlyons already pointed out, what a profound statement: "How dangerous it was to follow a dream without exploring reality..."

And your mother sacrificed everything for his happiness, seems.

And then, what you and your sister experienced..

Tis is why I truly hope we have several lifetimes; to learn, to fail and to grow to something better by tripping over many times... What a story!

Quite a story, Elsa, thank you.

"...how dangerous it was, to follow a dream without exploring reality." That is profound.

Thank You for sharing your story, Elsa!!! Inner work is sometimes a tough journey. It sounds like you’ve come a long way.

Thank You for all that you do, as well!! If you were still in Vienna you probably wouldn’t be here today. And I know some of us would have never been fully up to date on Reiner’s situation if it weren’t for you and all the hard work you’ve put in.

Know you are much appreciated!!! More than you’ll ever know!!!!

Thanks Elsa!

Your story was short and, although not sweet, nicely clear and concise.
