CAROLLING FOR REINER is turning into a major learning experience for all of us:

1. It’s a challenge getting people to sing in unison when we are not in one space. I had no idea about this!! So much to learn. But we are learning!

2. Such different expertise and abilities, which means we need to experiment to see what works best from the suggestions brought by the different people.

3. One needs to adjust Zoom settings for music. Otherwise one may have, for instance, considerable time lags between different voices. Here is a link to a step-by-step guide. I found it excellent:

1. Success is possible! We are ever so much further ahead. Plus we are getting to know each other, as well as to practice, at times, patience!!!! Success is possible, but it isn’t instant.

Announcement from 12.12.2023

Dr. Carola Javid-Kistel, a doctor from Duderstadt, was arrested at Zurich Airport on Friday, 1 December 2023, on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by Duderstadt District Court on 2 June 2023 and a European arrest warrant issued later. The background to this is an indictment by the Göttingen public prosecutor's office dated October 14, 2021, with the accusation of issuing incorrect health certificates (so-called mask certificates) in 16 cases, §§ 278, 52 of the German Criminal Code.

Dr. Javid-Kistel was transferred to Germany at the beginning of this week. She herself has called for an acceleration of these proceedings, which I have heard from both her and her Swiss defense lawyer. I am also in contact with her German defense lawyer and have the relevant documents on the case.

This afternoon, the Duderstadt District Court suspended the arrest warrant against payment of bail and a police reporting requirement. A short time later, Dr. Javid-Kistel was released from Schwäbisch Gmünd prison and is now on her way home. I have spoken to her several times during the course of the day and am also in contact with her family. Further details of the case will be published shortly, until then please be patient. The impetus for the carolling comes from Reiner imprisoned. What our efforts aim for: Reiner free, back in his life, back united with his wife, Inka, as well as with all of us who care for him. It would be utterly amazing if he were to be released and could attend the carolling, could join in the celebrating. What is possible? I don’t know. There is something in me very optimistic. I know it matters, each of us doing what we can.
